Chi
Chi displays a certain naiveté and innocence coupled with a childlike curiosity thanks to her learning program software. She is easily impressionable and gullible. Her trust in everyone often gets her into precarious situations. Her happiness is directly proportional to the praise she gets.
She is always craving knowledge and adores books. She imitates whatever piques her interest, from models in Hideki’s magazines to tasks at home. Chi builds relationships effortlessly, from the bond she shares with Hideki, to Sumomo, who often guides her through various activities.
Sumomo
Resembling a genie, Sumomo is hyperactive and upbeat. As Hideki’s cheerful assistant, she orchestrates energizing morning routines and partakes in spontaneous dances. Originally owned by Shinbo, she was left in Hideki’s care who eventually became her permanent owner.
Despite nearly being destroyed after analyzing Chi, her resilience post-recovery further proves her determination. In the presence of Kotoko, Sumomo’s nonsensical ways led to accusations of madness. Yet these traits are an integral part of Sumomo’s eccentric charm that leaves an undeniable impact on those around her.
Hideki
Hideki is a naive yet well-meaning farm boy thrust into the heart of Tokyo. He is characteristically described as “a fish out of water”. This shift from rural solitude to urban chaos fuels his bouts of confusion and frustration. He’s prone to talking to himself culminating in both comical encounters and moments of embarrassment.
His active libido provides his stash of adult magazines, humorously termed “bait”. Although often teased for being a “nice guy” without a girlfriend, Hideki’s earnestness draws others to confide in him. His kindness shines through his eagerness to assist others.
Kotoko
Standing at just 16 centimeters tall, Kotoko has deep-purple eyes and long dark hair fashioned into two ponytails. She often wears a white kimono paired with a distinctive red obi-bow. She oscillates between serious and outspokenly fiery. Moreover, her logical mind seizes every opportunity to engage in research.
Programmed to be truthfully blunt, her persona can border on cold cynicism. Nevertheless, she gradually grows fond of her new owner and Sumomo, revealing her capacity to develop relationships beyond her programming.
